This film is a real diamond in the rough
a very real concept that takes the viewer to a quintessential "what if ?"
though the cast is mostly "unknowns" there is realism through out their performances.
Ally Sheedy, the only "known" plays a very secondary role in the film.
Production values were good, this film is very watchable,
wold love to see a big budget remake 7/10

part 2- In my initial review I coined the term, "unknowns"
to describe the cast of "Day Zero", I must admit it was my failure too recognize these actors, who have significant bodies of work.
Elisha Woods who portrays(Arron Feller,the unaccomplished tag-along),is brilliant.
Jon Bernthal,(James Dixon), truly captures the "American spirit" of a brash,patriotic under achiever.
and Chris Klein (George Rifkin), "upstart" who is forced too choose,the character you love too hate,does a great job too.
Maybe it was the timing, 2007 the country was tired of "Bush's war,or the taboo nature of the subject, 'Draft" is still a dirty word, but this film is one that should have been bigger.
