The best part of the movie is the accents, i love these movies with British child actors.

I don't understand why they wouldn't make the next two films, this movie was so great....they decided to stop production because the first didn't do so well in the box office, probably because of ppl like us that don't pay to watch :( lol

I WISH THEY HAD A SECOND MOVIE , IT WAS GREAT AND SMART

Yeah the book was phenomenally better. The movie really kind of fell flat, and that is why the other two books won't be made into movies. Which is really sad because the other two books are so important to the complete story, which is utterly brilliant. But as beautiful as the movie was, there was just something missing. It felt kind of plain and manufactured. It was definitely made to be the first part of a trilogy, but it was lacking in certain qualities to ever be given a sequel. I know the catholic church protested against these books and the movie, but I would also have to chock it up to the writing and/or direction. It was very one dimensional compared to well made fantasy movies, and certainly compared to the books.

Took a second time watching this to see why the religious people hate this movie so much (I only realized it because the first time I treated like a good movie and enjoyed it as such, this time I was looking for it). It's so sad how childish people are these days; the things portrayed here are just historic fact when regarding the religious parts. And they fact they actually pointed that out shows that the author got it dead on. Only those guilty of something will notice when they are being talked badly of.
