I loved this version the most, and if it wasn't for the semi-sci fi parts and variety of characters, this would appear as a documentary, which i reckon wasn't the goal of directors! 9.1/10, definitely worth to watch many times again, you don't see this kind of action everyday!

Yeah, that's why people watched this. Because of the history facts, not lots of gore,action and testosterone but because they needed to write a report about 300 people holding a million back between 2 cliffs just to get betrayed by gollum from lord of the rings.

They are currently filming the second one. With different actors of course.

As persian didn't like the film coz the exaggeration on how persian are bad with the mask and stuff+ we weren't savage we are not animal look at the background of history 4000yeras known as ARYANS we wrote HUMAN RIGHTS if u don't know that chech it out + in reality persians were respect to their enemies !!!!

WTF!!! this film is awful as a persian i know it was always war between persians and greeks but we were resect each other but Zack Snyder show that persians are even worst than animals this is unacceptable!!!

Very entertaining, but they do leave out huge parts like why Leonidas knew it was so important to hold them off, it wasnt the Carneia, it was Themistocles, He was buying enough time for the Persian Fleet to be destroyed by the great Athens Armada, in-itself was another underdog story....Themistocles was to the sea battles what Leonidas was to the Land ones and if Themistocles failed the Spartans wouldnt have lasted a day and vice versa, the biggest thing was really Spartans before had looked down on other Greeks and they died side by side together for the good of Greece and fathered and GrandFathered Free Republic that lived on to this day.

Hate to burst your bubble but the persians were like any super huge powerhouse, they were slavers who looked at anyone else as subhuman and Darius and Xerxes were both Ego-maniacs with delusions of grandure. Were the Spartans perfect? No. Were they better warriors absolutely. Were they fighting against there lands [Greece] Being raped and Slaughtered and burnt for payback at Marathon also yes. So while the Persians were technically advanced they also were Conquerers who took slaves, and without this and many other occasions the general opinion would be that slaving out people and owning people is the way to go, Spartans and Greeks were the first step [still very imperfect] in the right direction going to the Magna Carta, then the Us and French Constitutions and without those 1300 men who fought and held the 100k+men of Xerxes we might not even know what true freedom is.

I love the ancient Greek and Roman stories, that's why this movie is one my favorites. 10/10 ps I loved the part in the end when the guy tells us: remember us is what he said.

One-dimensional in thrust, tone, dialogue, and even in looks. I like good sword-and-sandal movies, but if you compare this to a movie like Gladiator (or even Braveheart) which has well-rounded characters, plot progression, rich visuals, and emotional depth, it's hard to call it a 5/5 or anything close. I would have given it two stars, but it felt like the energy it was trying to get across never gelled--tho almost in the last five minutes. But I rolled my eyes over and over again up 'til then. Some of the worst dialogue in a minute. 1/5
