After being struck by a truck, John Corben wakes up alone in an abandoned apartment as a man-machine with a Kryptonite heart. Corben realizes he now has superhuman strength and sets out to exact revenge on the Red-Blue Blur, who he perceives to be an irresponsible vigilante. Against Clark’s wishes, Lois involves herself in the Red-Blue Blur’s investigation, and winds up getting kidnapped by Corben.

Zod and his soldiers release a virus into the air that turns humans into zombies. The only way to stop it is to make an antidote from the blood of another Kryptonian. After Lois is infected, Chloe pleads with Clark to donate his blood to stop the epidemic, even though it risks outing him to Zod.

Tess forces Oliver to come to a Queen Industries gala to put the Board at ease, but things go awry when the Toyman shows up with a bomb and a plan to take revenge on Oliver. The Toyman tells Oliver he must confess to murdering Lex or he will blow the place up. Meanwhile, as part of his training, Jor-El gives Clark the ability to hear other people’s thoughts.

When Lionel is shot, Jonathan is arrested, but after Clark and Pete perform their own crime scene investigation, they realize that more than one person had the opportunity to kill Lionel - including Lex. Meanwhile, Lana is suspicious after she asks her father to take on Jonathan's case and he declines for mysterious reasons...

In Metropolis, the police are escorting a witness into a courthouse as a man looks on. Clark is accompanying Chloe on an assignment when Clark notices the man is about ready to be run over. Clark superspeeds to the rescue and saves his life, and the man notices Clark's name on his press badge. The police take the witness into a sealed holding room and find nothing, then lock him in. After they leave, the man Clark rescues appears behind the witness and strangles him to death. When the alarm goes off, the police burst in and find nothing but the dead witness, as the killer reappears outside in the hallway.

Clark and Martha return home and find Lois playing video games on a new big-screen TV. Someone had it delivered and the present simply has a card saying "Enjoy!" Clark suspects Lionel then goes to talk to Chloe who tells him about the dead witness. Chloe tries to track the sale but doesn't have any luck. Chloe almost manages to give away that she knows about Lana and Lex's secret but covers.

At the Kents, the man is watching Lois exercise and then appears out of nowhere to introduce himself as Graham. When Graham finds out Clark returned the TV, he's unhappy and Lois invites him to stay and wait for Clark. Lex returns home to find Lana waiting for him. He has been checking on Fine's background and hasn't found anything, and wonders if he's really working for the government. Then they admit they missed each other and kiss…while Clark arrives to see them without their noticing him.

He leaves and confronts Chloe about keeping it secret and in return Chloe advises him to let it drop since he broke up with Lana. Back at the loft, Clark is mooning over Lana's picture when Graham shows up. Graham insists he doesn't want to be in debt to anyone and convinces Clark to go to a party in Metropolis with him. Graham has also invited Lois who is there to get closer to Graham. Graham then gets Clark out on the balcony where a woman is waiting for him – Gia. Graham set her up with Clark but he quickly takes off. Graham is impressed by Clark's dedication to Lana and plans to help get them together. Graham is undeterred when he finds out Lex is Lana's new boyfriend and assures Clark things will work out.

At the manor, Lex is unaware that he's being watched by an invisible Graham who tries to strangle him. Lex fights back unsuccessfully and only Lana's intervention save him. Clark visits an unconscious Lex at the hospital and talks to Lana, who gives him a description of Graham.

Graham visits Lois at the Talon – she's reluctant to go out with him but he eventually prevails. Clark goes to Graham's apartment and confronts him, and when Graham attacks him Clark reveals his invulnerability and Graham turns invisible and escapes. Clark links up with Chloe who figure out Graham is a professional hit man with a meteor power. As they discuss Clark's weakness they're unaware that Graham is invisibly watching them.

Lois is taking a shower at her apartment when Graham sneaks in to watch her. Lois suspects something is up and opens the door to find Clark. He figures Graham was there and then uses his super-hearing to fix on Graham's heartbeat. Clark spots him leave after bumping into someone and goes outside to see him down the street. Clark grabs him but Graham has a piece of green kryptonite and leaves him to die while going after Lex at the hospital.

Lana is with Lex and Lex is melancholy over the fact Clark visited while he was unconscious. He also suggests that Lana should tell Clark about them before he finds out on his own. Lois is preparing to go on her date with Graham when Chloe comes in and tells her about Graham. They go outside and find Clark in a construction area where Graham buried him. Chloe secretly ditches the kryptonite and Clark tells them where Graham is heading.

Lex is alone in his room receiving a message from Fine asking if the "compound virus" is ready. Lex answers in the affirmative and then Lana comes in. Graham takes out Lex's guard and sneaks in but Lex notices him and opens fire. He scores a hit but Graham knocks Lex down and takes the gun, while they make a run for it. Clark arrives in time to intercept the bullet just as Graham collapses, dead.

The next day Lois visits Martha and complains about her luck with men. Clark visits Chloe at the Planet who has gotten her first front-page story for her story on Graham. Clark is reluctant about saving people but Chloe assures him he has to rescue who he can and not pick and choose. Clark apologizes to Chloe and then goes back to his barn to take down his telescope. Lana arrives and explains she's been spending time with Lex. Clark tries to explain she's in danger but she insists she doesn't need protecting and it was Clark's decision to break up, and he'll have to live with it.

Clark begins using his powers to stop crimes all over Metropolis, but when he is faced with a mysterious serial killer he points the finger to Davis who has unexpected black-outs at the same time as the killings. Meanwhile Chloe sets up a group to help the Meteor Infected but is surprised to see Clark's reaction.

This is an excellent show and has so many seasons its awesome. I have to say that most scifi shows like this they get old after a couple seasons, but no, not this one. This show has so many things to it, it just gets better and better. I give this show a 100 out of 10. That is how much I enjoyed it.

After watching the first three seasons i can honestly say its a great show to spend time watching, don't be put off by the amount of episodes there is to watch just think of it as hours of entertainment.

Great romance/action and story start watching today!

In the middle of the night on the road, a young pregnant woman is going into labor while her husband drives on the road when she suddenly glows and implodes, while the husband stops the car and runs for his life. Lana and Clark are driving a truck along the same road and find a baby in the crater created by the explosion. They take the baby to the hospital, and the Kent family temporarily guards him, who is connected to Clark. Lana and Clark give the name of Evan, and on the next day, he becomes a teenager, precociously aging. The scientists of Lex study the case and conclude that the boy needs a transfusion of the bone marrow of his unknown father, if he can be found, and even then... Clark tries to save Evan. Meanwhile, Genevieve Teague has a meeting with Lionel Luthor and threatens to hurt Lex, in case the missing stone from China is not delivered to her. But Lionel soon turns the tables... Truly captivating episode and one of the most notable emotional ones.

Unlike Johns’ last two episodes, this one wasn’t overflowing with comic book references, introducing two new characters in such a way as to spare the audience information overload. Also unlike Absolute Justice, this episode wasn’t an EVENT, meaning there was less pressure, allowing breathing room and better characterization.
Booster was definitely the best part of the episode. His charming personality made what could have been an annoying character very lovable and endearing. His sense of humor and over-the-top heroic speaking style contrasted well with his more serious and somber attitude towards the end of the episode. However, Jaime’s character didn’t fare so well, remaining little more than a one-note Peter Parker-clone the whole time. Even the Blue Beetle suit had no characterization or goal beyond “Kill Kill!” Who was it trying to kill, why, etc? I can appreciate that quite a lot of time was spent on Lois and Clark, much more than I thought would be given all the new characters, but I wish Jaime had been a stronger character. But despite that, both Booster and Jaime were used to great effect as they gave Clark an idea of what to shoot for in both his identities. Booster as the public figure, standing with his hands on his hips, a great hero, and Jaime as a dorky loser. Tom Welling did a great job as “Mild Mannered” Clark Kent, tripping over himself and being demure. I have to say, I didn’t think he could pull off that take on the character and make it believable, but he did.
I loved the idea that dorky Clark is a callback to teenage Clark from Season One. It’s a great way to bring the show full circle, and also insert a bit of irony. Despite having made so much progress towards becoming a Superman, Clark still has to act like the unsure loser he was always trying to outgrow. Lois’s character is as strong here as ever. Johns writes a good Lois in the comics, but Smallville’s Lois is so good there is virtually no room for improvement. Playing her against Cat Grant, who is sadly always on the wrong side of the argument, shows off her strengths, as does her attention to detail when it comes to Clark’s secret. The special effects and costuming looked good. I thought the JSA looked a little too comic booky (If you will) last time. Blue Beetle was pretty stiff, but that seemed to be on purpose, what with the suit controlling the man. Not quite as awe-inspiring as Legion, or as over-the-top as Absolute Justice, this was still a great episode that fit seamlessly into this season’s storyline. At times it felt almost like a backdoor pilot for a Booster and Beetle series, as Clark does a lot of standing around while the other two heroes do stuff. But at the end of the day, it was a good introduction to a couple of DC’s lesser known fan favorite characters. All in all good show.

I have only just started to watch smallville after 10 years of it passing by and i can honestly say that i am ashamed of myself for not watching it from the very start! Thanks to this website though, i have been able to catch up on all i have missed. I would like to say that this is a VERY entertaining watch and i am quite sad that it has to come to an end. If you want to start watching it from season one on this site, do not be put off by the shear mass of episodes that there are because they really just fly by when your watching them. The first few seasons are not set around a central plotline, but new villians every episode and its only in thee later seasons that central story arc comes to unfold; although, there are still some random acts of violence from kryptonite infected people. All-in-all, its worth the many, many, many hours watching all the episodes!

Nothing I didn't like about this series. From high to college to actual adult life, this shows it all for the man of steel. It has a strong focus on his relationships with the people around him and shows how it has made him into the hero that everyone knows and loves. Even has a lot of twists and turns will keep you watching and even wanting more. Re-runs, a must.

After 10 long years, Smallville has finally come to a close. It was a bumpy ride, with a few rough patches here and there (namely in later seasons), but even when the show was in the mud, Smallville was consistently entertaining, with some solid performances, great characters and awesome action.

The Top 25 Smallville Episodes

Smallville finally arrives on DVD in a complete series box set filled with 62 DVDs. 62! That's 60 DVDs just for the show, and two discs worth of fresh bonus materials added specifically for this set. The show comes housed in a heavy cardboard case and is split, quite appropriately, into two rectangle cardboard digibooks (Seasons 1-5 in one, 6-10 in the other). The look and feel of this set is rather similar to the case design used for the Alien Saga Blu-ray box set, with glossy photos and cardboard pages, with discs snuggly tucked into the cardboard (perhaps too snug, so be careful and expect to get a few scratches on the discs). There's also a folder in the case, which contains a 32-page episode guide and a 16-page faux issue of The Daily Planet (an awesome read, by the way). The guide also includes hundreds of photos and artwork from throughout the series.


Smallville: The Complete Series is presented in 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen. Transfers here vary in quality, getting better toward the end of the show's run, when the production makes the leap to glossy hi-def. Obviously, the early seasons first came to DVD nearly 10 years ago, and it appears as though the same masters used for those early sets are simply recycled for this release. As such, they're a bit less detailed with minor encode hiccups (mainly artifacting) and often quite a bit of grain. Later seasons look considerably better, especially starting around Season 6. While this DVD collection doesn't quite reach the heights of the original HD broadcast, this set best represents how the show looked in SD.

Smallville's Best Moments

Also, for those hoping to own all of Smallville on Blu-ray – to my knowledge, the first few seasons were shot on either film or early digital equipment (IMDb claims HD shooting didn't start until Season 2). Regardless, it would appear that effects were done in post-production and rendered in standard definition (for budget purposes). Unfortunately, this means unless Warner decides to cough up nearly a third of the production budget of the first few seasons to redo those effects, don't expect a double-dip of this series on Blu-ray anytime soon. Still, it's a shame the later seasons (6-10), which did arrive on Blu-ray, couldn't have been presented that way in this set. If I'm going to pay $200 for a complete series of a show I may already own a few seasons of (if not the whole shebang), I want the best. But I digress. This minor hiccup is certainly disappointing, but it probably won't be a deal breaker for some fans.


Audio is all over the place, but don't fret – none of it is bad. The first three seasons of Smallville are presented in 2.0 stereo. Seasons 4 and 5 are mixed in Dolby Surround. And seasons 6-10 are presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital. The first season also gets a French stereo dub. Overall, the show has always sounded great, even when it was mixed in stereo. Obviously, things get a pretty big boost when Smallville switches to a 5.1 sound field, but there's rarely a dull moment in any of these mixes. Smallville has always boasted an effective palette that pumps up the action and spectacle of the show's visual effects and set pieces. Dialogue has always been well-mixed and clean, with no crackles or distortions. It's a shame Warner didn't go back and give every episode a 5.1 makeover, but such an endeavor would have likely proved costly, so it's understandable.

Smallville's Worst Stories

For this complete series box set, Warner has collected each and every extra from all 10 seasons. There are 21 commentary tracks, featuring the cast and crew of the show, not to mention a hearty collection of featurettes, deleted scenes, gags, outtakes, promos, documentaries and more – everything from the old sets is here.


To sweeten the pot, Warner also gives fans two fresh discs created specifically for this complete series box set. Disc 61 starts off with a 13-minute look back at Smallville's presence at San Diego Comic-Con throughout the years. It's a loving tribute to the fans who helped build this series up. This featurette is followed by a 24-minute cast and crew interview shot during Paley Fest in 2004. It offers some insight, but it's really nothing special.

Next up are two pilot episodes. The first is for Adventures of Superboy, from 1961. This pilot is newly uncovered and is presented here on DVD for the very first time. Video quality is very low, so low in fact, that the show is overlaid over a somewhat small picture of a vintage TV. I guess that's as good as it's going to get for now. The other pilot is for the ill-fated Aquaman series. It's not a great pilot, but I wish the network had gone with the show anyway. Imagine what it could have turned into. The crossover episodes and recurring heroes and villains between Aquaman and Smallville could have made for awesome TV, especially for comic book lovers. Oddly missing from this set is the unaired pilot for Smallville, featuring a different actress in place of Annette O'Toole.


The last extra of disc one is an extended version of Making of a Milestone. This version runs roughly 65 minutes and chronicles the making of Smallville's epic 100th episode (one of my personal favorite episodes). Curiously, this documentary is listed in the episode guide as being on disc 62, not disc 61 (this doc and the retrospective doc are swapped). Also, and this is just a mild annoyance, the documentary is broken into three pieces, yet there's no "Play All" button.

Disc 62 features the lengthy retrospective documentary I covered at NYCC (read my review of the documentary here). It's broken up into 10 parts, one for each season. Again, like the Milestone documentary, there is no "Play All" button. And the last extra of disc 62 is Secret Origin, the DC comics propaganda documentary that seems to be included in every major box set they put out. So that's it. Smallville: The Complete Series box set. Is this pricey set worth it? Yes, specifically if you own just a part or none of the series on DVD or Blu-ray, or you're a collector or diehard fan of Smallville. If you already own the set on DVD/Blu-ray, that's another story. The collection is incredibly beautiful, and there are some great bonus goodies, especially the retrospective. But I'm not sure it's enough to warrant re-buying the whole series, in standard definition no less. But that call is entirely up to you. If you like what you see here, buy the set. Otherwise, you might just want to stick with your old DVDs. Regardless, I'm going to recommend the set. It's a great showcase piece and awesome way to relive the show. But spend wisely.
