Since it's a Japanese series all of the Pokemon episodes were originally done in Japan about a year and a half before the dubbed versions were released in the US. The time between countries has now gotten down to about 4 months. As an example, the latest episode coming to the US aired in Japan on October 4, 2012 and will air in the US on January 26, 2013.

It was not banned in North America, there was an American dubbed version created, but it was never broadcast. It has never broadcast in any country other than Japan, because of the seizure problems, and it hasn't broadcast at all since it caused the troubles.

Ah so this episode was banned? Was about to say why he has a Charmander again all the way far through the first season. I guess they added this back in mid-season and it counts as a 'lost episode'.

Gary was just a douchebag to Ash and everyone else he is cool and respectful with. He was cool with his Pokemon and loved them. They only showed his 'cocky' side through the episodes and now he might have some respect for Ash. Also, wow Mewtwo so this is the start that went to "Pokemon First Movie"...ah memories.
