Chasing Mummies is a ok show it not the best on tv today but it ok..

indiana jones is the best & coolest ever his movies are the best ever.

New York Times columnist Neil Genzlinger writes, "[O]ne hopes that this show will, like some of those ancient pharaohs, die young, or that Dr. Hawass will unearth some ancient Egyptian chill pills and swallow a generous helping." He said that a segment showing an intern locked in a pyramid did not seem genuine, and that the show is "intent on forcing drama into the proceedings in a way that seems artificial." TVGA describes the show as "a reality series in the tradition of Bravo's Flipping Out. Like egomaniacal but essentially harmless blowhard Jeff Lewis, Zahi Hawass...is set up to be the comically abusive centerpiece of the show." Referring to an "intern" on the show, TVGA said, "If Zoe's not an actress and this show [is] not severely engineered / scripted, I'd both be surprised and deeply curious about how the hell Chasing Mummies could look this level of manipulated and artificial."[ The Egyptian daily Almasry Alyoum called that incident a "rather obvious bit of staged drama." and said that Hawass "is shown berating underlings in both English and Arabic, talking about himself in the third person and generally acting like a bit of a cartoon." The newspaper said Chasing Mummies "often verges on self-parody."

I think Zahi is a complicated guy. For starters, he is Egyptian. Anyone who has traveled in the Middle-Far East will understand what I mean by this. Westerners have a different view of the world. Not to say that Middle Easterners don't love their families and value work and believe in God, they just do it differently. So differently that it usually takes a Westerner,at a minimum, 3 days to adapt to their values and societal rules. From the Western point of view he is a beligerant tyrant, totally selfcentered. But I think there are many of this type of person in Egypt if they got a little power. Where do you thing the Pharoahs came from? It is interesting that the snake is the symbol of royalty. Well, there are 2 ends on a snake, the bitey mouth end and the tail. Both parts of the same creature. Good discourse on Egyptian archeology and fantastic photography. 4/5

I don't know who they were trying to trick with this show, but I haven't seen anything so fake before. And if it is real, then Dr. Zahi is one messed up guy.

Amazing series, but that dr zawi is a nutter, he is so particular and fussy, saying that i would love to work for him and gain at least half his knowledge. AMAZING 5/5
