Agree with the thumbed down comments on here but after 10 minutes of 1st episode this show sucks big time. I won't be watching anymore, this sucks more than that other crap hardcore pawn.

American Pickers is an American documentary reality television series that premiered January 18, 2010 on History Channel.The show follows two "pickers," Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they travel around Iowa, the greater Midwest, and the South (as of season one) buying antiques and collectibles. They are assisted by Danielle Colby-Cushman, who runs their business (called Antique Archeology) and attempts to track down potential sources of valuable objects. Antique Archeology is based out of LeClaire, Iowa. Wolfe and Fritz target older farms and other, mostly rural locations to find and purchase these objects. Wolfe has a particular interest in old bicycles, while Fritz has a fondness for antique oil cans, although they have purchased old advertising signs, movie theater posters, a rare 15-gallon visible gasoline pump and a Vespa passenger scooter that one of their friends tells them is probably the only one of its kind in North America. Wolfe said he seeks collectibles that would interest men rather than items such as Depression glass. The series debuted with 3.2 million viewers,and was the #1 new series in the 25-54 year old category.

You comment contains stupidity from the beginning to end. Doesn't a person have to watch something first and then decide if they like it or not? Informative, can be exciting to watch as they make their finds & the travel put into it. Only angst that I have is regarding the deals on the pieces their interested in purchasing. I do understand the want to buy something for close to nothing and that one must be business savvy, but there's a difference when blatantly offering a very small amount of money for something that you will later sell for more than triple. I realize it's all about the big bucks, however most would not want to reveal on television their low moral tactics in order to acquire it. I suspect that some of the people, example the elderly couple that have a "White Castle" on their land amongst many other antiques buildings, were scouted before the two guys just "decided" to visit Pickaway County. BTW I understand making commentary of others possessions, but their approach is at times rude in addition to their insulting offers. 2/5. -Stolee
