I can honestly say that episode 8 is my favorite. Even though this show is so cliche, I just love it! Just the show itself makes me want to keep watching it over and over again. I'm watching episode 8 again later! :D

Although The River has been officially canceled by ABC due to its sub-par ratings, Netflix is in talks with ABC Studios about possibly continuing the series on its video-on-demand digital distribution service. This move would continue to make money for the studio. Discussion on the matter is ongoing

Haha I just read my comment from a month ago about "how it'd be a crime if this show was cancelled" I just ate my words. This show is cancelled... thanks ABC they get us hooked on a show and then cancelled it. GCB, The River, The Missing are just a few of the shows that are gone =( I really like to watch this show with the whole family every week, it was like a horror movie in TV show!!

so this season was only 8 episodes?? I was checking back everyweek..now im reading comments and i see people are talking about it being cancelled..That sucks i actually liked this show so far its kinda differant and weird but if u have an open mind and ur into mystery, horror and Sy-Fy youd prolly like it to

I heard netflix is looking to pick up this show if it gets canceled so im hoping we will get a season 2 of some type :)

When I first saw the commercials for this show, it didn't pique my interest - sure, horror is my favorite genre, and Bruce Greenwood is an amazing actor, but it just didn't look like something I'd enjoy. Then I heard two people talking about it on the bus home from work, and decided to give it a watch. So I came home, pulled up On Demand, and watched the first episode. Halfway through, they had me, hook, line, and sinker. I couldn't have torn my eyes away from the screen even if I wanted to - which I didn't. Since then, I've watched every episode faithfully, some of them multiple times. ABC could really be onto something here...

I really enjoyed this, and hope there's more to come! Better than Lost, in my opinion, but Lost got really silly - as many series do when they run a few seasons. Lots of shocks and jumps in The River, and the scenery is fabulous.

They better renew this for another season!! This show is FANTASTIC!!!! There's a surprise at every turn in this show. I'll admit myself, after the first show I lost interest too. Didn't find it that exciting, but I decided to give it another chance. So glad I did, because it's one of the best series I've ever seen!!

I never really got into Lost past the first 6 episodes, but I really enjoyed this mini series, which could have been a whole lot better, minus the heavy restrictions of network TV. I'm hoping one of the cable channels like AMC,FX,or Showtime maybe pick it up for a season 2. Or at the very least they could give us a resolving hour and a half last episode to get some closure. Anyhow, lots of good shows out there right now and this sadly maybe the end of the line for the River. Rats!

Not a bad show, post-LOST. I thought they did a good job, and the plot kept moving along with some spooky moments. (I agree with some of the previous posts -- better than I expected it to be, as well!) Judging by ratings though, seems like an uphill battle for renewal, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed.

Really glad I decided to watch this show. I wasn't sure if I would like it at first but it's a very original idea and keeps me on the edge of my seat. I hope the rest of the season is as promising.

i love this show ... was waiting for a non-reality show that was entertaining and ABC did a great job with this one .. KUDOS ..... 10/10 just surprise after surprise when u think its over surprise all the way till the credits at the end ....

To those of you who care... This is a great show... the first ep is a little slow but it is really setting the plot, and still good if you ask me... which you didn't lol. But after that it get's really good! Very creepy and mythic. Especially with the whole amazonian thing... there is so much that we haven't EVER set foot on and left unexplored which makes it kinda interesting. This show has a very shaman, voodoo, folklore feel to it and supernatural in a different way than usual. I hope you will give it a try. I give it a 4/5.
