totally agree with brian32131, the paint job is ugly. and scott is acting like all though and trying to take the headsmith's job from brian is messed up.

Not too shabby, like Sons of Guns only with less on screen drama. Good first episode. 8/10

I agree, but i am always put off by the fact that in sons of guns they all have annoying accents and act like giant douches in front of the camera instead of actually outlining the technical aspect of the weapons.

i love this show! Very interesting and i love how they actually try to focus on the trade and the guns themselves rather than just shamelessly creating drama between annoying and constantly warring charactors like Sons of Guns.

I have to worry about the competence of those 'gunsmiths'. I'm a former metal machinist and this is about what I'd expect of a new apprentice, not time-served adult men. Re the axe-mortar......why?? You can get a decent real (and safe) weapon for that kind of stash. I know this show is going for drama and extremes but its gone over the line into just plain ridiculous.

Just started watching this and that paintjob on the 20mm was painful and I would have serious concerns at the build quality for all that cash. It was funny to see a hammer being used on the bare paint finish of the AR10 too. I don't think these guys are doing their business any favours with this show especially when they point out how much they ripped off that guy with the hunting rifles. Do they think he won't be watching this??

I'm not really a fan of Scott's attitude. He's like five or six petulant children all rolled into one, with a gun. His saving grace is that he is talented and knows what he is doing. This was the first episode I was not overly happy with, Scott seems to just want to create unnecessary drama. As for all the people comparing this show to SoGs, can't you just appreciate the show for what it is? Entertaining, educational to a certain extent, and for the most part fun. As for the people disparaging American Guns for creating an episode centering on a 'Zombie Gun' for no other reason than 'RJ did it first...' it isn't like they set out to do it, the concept is an interesting one, and they were just doing what the customer requested. Why shouldn't they show the gun if they were commissioned to build it? It makes no difference whether someone else already built a gun calling it a 'Zombie Gun.' If the only reason to do something is to break new ground, then nothing would ever be done, and no thought would ever the acted upon. That argument is both pedantic and flawed.

I'm not quite half way through the first season, but I am really enjoying this show. It is by far, much better than Sons of Guns. I look forward to more great episodes!

I enjoyed this episode. The work on they did on the Winchester is impressive.

I figured this one wouldn't last.....prices too high & bad custom builds too..
