Watch The Killing: In Seattle, Det. Sarah Linden is on what is supposed to be her last day on the job. She and her son Jack are supposed to leave that evening to join her fiancé in Sonoma. Her replacement, Det. Stephen Holder, is ready to take over but they answer a call from a patrol car who have found a bloodied sweater in a field. When the missing girl, Rosie Larsen, is found in the trunk of a car at the bottom of a lake it turns out the car is registered to the campaign committee for councilman Darren Richmond, who is running for mayor. Linden delays her departure for what she hopes will be only a few days. |

i'm almost halfway through season 2 now. while it is still not as engaging as the original (seriously, people... read the subtitles. it's worth it), it does have an attraction of its own... except for the lead. the more i see (and hear) of her, the more it irritates me. her delivery of the lines is totally out of sync with what is an otherwise stellar cast. she sounds like a community theater actor with a serious case of stage fright every time she speaks. that character is one of the most interesting in any series i've watched in the last decade or so (right up there with Kenneth Branagh's "Wallander"), but this actress does not do it justice. the series overall is 4/5, but that character brings it down to somewhere near 3/5.

i love the original. this one is actually better than i expected (our remakes of stuff is always cringe-inducing), but i am not feeling the lead. that character is supposed to be defined by her blind devotion to her work. here, she actually seems to be handling the balance of work and life decently (interaction with her son, even joking around with her boss). that is so not Sarah Lund. it's decent and i'll keep watching because i am bored, but it does not have nearly the same level of engagement as the original. 3.5/5

I'm watching this show and I can't believe that she is a cop. The acting can be better maybe with time their acting will be believable. And is it just me or is most of the lady the unattractive i know she a cop does that mean she really has to look that. And give the mother some better makeup.

The Shield is the best.

I agree; I hope they don't stretch this whole Rosie thing out over several seasons. It should have been wrapped up in Season 1, then start fresh with a different murder in Season 2. But with Holder obviously playing a role in all of this, who knows what will happen?

Okay, just finished watching the entire Season 1. While I think it's watchable, I have to agree with others who say it's startlingly similar to Twin Peaks, minus the humor and eccentricities. Is The Killing a remake of Twin Peaks, or is it supposed to be an original show? If it's the former, it gets high marks for remaking the story in an effective manner. If it's the latter, it gets zero points for originality. Either way, I was disappointed with Season 1 ending. I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it yet, so I'll just say... it's time to wrap it up and move on to the next. Or maybe the ending was a cheap trick to keep us in suspense for the next season.

As we all learn this is what happens when you take matters into your own hands and judge, You royally screw up?, lawd what a mess and this series hits on so many different realistic issues

Riveting!, what I would like to know is was Rosie abducted and if not who the heck was she keeping company with. Some of these kids are way too grown,a cting wild and crazy with barely any supervision.

Danish tv havent made any more so far apart from 2 season, so unless AMC have the rights to write more themself this will be last.. Dont know much about how these contract works, when you buy the rights to remake a show for other countries. edit. There is a 3 season made for Danish tv, it will come this year. This will be 3 and final season for the danish version. Not becasue it have poor rating (very good actually) but the writers have other shows to make. And they nornal dont make more then 2-3 seasons of a show be4 going on to other things.
