this show is pretty good, but not at all what i expected in the beginning. i will NEVER believe this show caused a single death. they are just filming a show for goodness sake! if you really care about the welfare of horses... get out there and picket horse racing in general, give some money to the rescue organizations -- or better yet, adopt a horse!! horse racing is one of the most cruel sports in existence...the only sport that thinks it's ok to put a saddle on a 2 year old and run them like heck (hello, they are saddling at 1 so they can race at 2). they breed for speed, not quality of horse, so many are gangly and die young. we don't even bit our horses until 2-3. we do saddle at 2, but it's just an easy going thing to get them use to the idea, no lengthy rides until 3 or older. many breeds do not even mess with the horse until they are 5. so, the show isn't the problem, peta tree huggers. I respect animals and disdain any abuse, but I cannot stand most of those idiots from peta who would rather see a human die than an animal. they gotta get their heads outta their rears and get with reality. last year i had one as a facebook friend (yeah, i dropped her) and she and her friends got upset because i killed a raccoon that had killed 8 of our egg laying chickens. um, get real! that pest took 8 lives... it had to go!!!!! peta, shmeta. they are just a bunch of crazy people, who could do something helpful, but instead choose to be nutty. last year they had a contest for the most beautiful peta person. it was a bunch of too skinny folks half naked... they could have used that million dollars in advertising to help an animals, but they did not. right then and here it cinched it for me... peta is just another gambet. also, i'd like to point out, that peta killed over 10,000 pets they were charged with the care of here in florida because they didn't know what else to do with them. healthy, adoptable pets. grrr... honestly, they need to just shut their mouths and attach themselves to a tree because they are a H U G E part of the problem.
