Misfits follows five outsiders on community service who get struck by a flash storm and lumbered with special powers.

Hard as nails Kelly (Lauren Socha) can suddenly hear people's thoughts, shamed sporting hero Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett) discovers he has the ability to turn back time when he regrets something, and party girl Alisha (Antonia Thomas) can send people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin. Even painfully shy Simon (Iwan Rheon) can make himself invisible when he feels he's being ignored, which makes it all the more hard to swallow for smart aleck Nathan (Robert Sheehan), who seems to have been unaffected, much to his dismay.

Unlike their more conventional counterparts, our misfits don't swap their ankle tags and mobile phones for capes and tights. Instead, they discover what a pain in the arse life can be when you're stuck with a super power you didn't want.

Nathan, Kelly, Curtis, Alisha and Simon are a group of misfits. They have nothing in common except the 'Community Payback' scheme they've been lumbered with at their local community centre, following varying crimes and misdemeanours.

When the group get caught in a freak storm on day 1, their lives are changed forever. Everyone except Nathan discovers they have super powers, and events quickly unravel in the weirdest of ways, until the group are landed with a secret that inexplicably bonds them together, whether they like it or not.

Misfits is a British live-action superhero comedy-drama about a group of young offenders forced to work in a community service programm, where they become imbued with supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. Kelly (Lauren Socha) becomes telepathic, Curtis (Nathan Stewart Jarrett) can rewind time, Alisha (Antonia Thomas) can send people into a sexual frenzy when they touch her skin, and Simon (Iwan Rheon) can make himself invisible. Seemingly left unaffected is smart alec Nathan (Robert Sheehan), although his power is ultimately revealed.

This show is about some kids who are caught up in a electrical storm whilst on community service in london. They then begin to realise that strange things are starting to happen after their probation officer goes mental and tries to kill them all. They discover 1 by 1 that the storm has left them with something..........Superpowers!!! They each use their different powers to try and get them out of situations they shouldn't be in. However its not just them that have got powers from this storm..............

Misfits is the story of a group of teenage offenders thrown together in Community Payback who suddenly begin to develop super powers after a freak lightning storm.

My initial reaction to the premise was, gee, another super heroes series like that hasn't been done to death. But, after watching it, I have to say that Misfits is something completely different. These kids are definitely not your usual heroes. The characters seem more real than we usually see in these kinds of shows and the humour and situations can be extremely dark but it all works.

In a genre that has been way overworked, Misfits is a breath of fresh air. Just watch one episode and I'll guarantee you'll be hooked.
