Gabriel Burns is perfect for the role. Hopkins is one of the most overrated actors anyhow. Enough of him. Burns is subtle, and a lot easier on the eyes.

According to the wiki article: "On March 30, 2011, HBO said In Treatment would not continue in its existing form but the network was talking with the show's producers about possibly continuing in a different format" I thought this format was actually pretty unique, and fitting for the premise. It made it like you were actually sitting in on each patients sessions on the same day each week. Hopefully it comes back, and they haven't changed it too much!

Much better then I expected. i expected it to suck. Maybe because I couldn't picture an interesting therapy session in my head. But its actually pretty cool. i agree. Give it a shot. you may be pleasantly surprised.

I wish there were psychopaths or serial killers or murderers or even rapists as Paul's patients in treatment.that would make this TV show more intriguing and interesting 3.5 / 5

I AGREE, HOPKINS WUD PLAY THE ROLE MUCH BETTER, THO BYRNE IS A GREAT ACTOR AND BEEN IRISH MYSELF [ I HAVE HAD MANY A PINT WITH HIM ] HE IS A GOOD FRIEND AN NICE GUY. BUT THE SERIES DOSE SHOW HOW MUCH BC THESE SHRINKS DISH OUT, AND DO YOU NOTICE BYRNE SAYES MOST OF THE TIME WHEN SOMEONE WANTS TO STOP SEEING HIM. HE SAYS [ NO] KEEP COMING, IN OTHER WORDS I WANT TO KEEP TAKING YUR MONEY. AND I THINK THATS ALL THESE REAL LIFE SHRINKS WANT. A FEW PINTS OF GUINESS AND A CHAT WITH A LOCAL WILL SORT OUT ANY PROBLEMS. IN IRELAND ANYWAY, LOL

In my opinion Gabriel Byrne is absolutely qualified to play this role and he does a great job! There's not many action in this series, but that's what i love about this show. What the charakters are saying and what they're trying to hide makes the suspence of this series. And it's very catchy. I can't stop watching it. So give it a try! It's worth it :-)
