Here are some things that I have found that help make watching movies/tv online more enjoyable:

Start with Google chrome as your web browser (it IS the fastest): http://www.google.com/chrome

The "Better Pop-up blocker" plugin for Chrome will block the annoying pop-ups that most video hosts use: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/nmpeeekfhbmikbdhlpjbfmnpgcbeggic

I also use the AdBlock plugin to get any the others miss, it works very well!

If you are having trouble with DivX its probably because you are using the new version of DivX. How to fix: Uninstall DivX from your machine and then re-install the older version of DivX (1.5) and do NOT update it: http://labs.divx.com/node/14970
