BASIC TORRENT SAFETY
1. Should I install PeerBlock? No. PB is useless. It only blocks KNOWN bad IP's. Generating new IP's is easy.
2. Makes sure your torrent client is running in 'forced' mode. (Note, this helps if your IP is throttling your bandwidth; it does little to stave off 'dirty requests/transfers'.
3. Use SSL encryption when searching/downloading torrents, and only use torrent indexing sites that support this, like PirateBay. (Get SSL here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/the-pirate-bay-ssl/ )



DARKNETS

- The ONLY way to exchange/download files with an extremely high (but not absolute) degree of anonymity is through a darknet.

- A darknet is simply a distributed file sharing network that enables users to form private circles of connections. Since you would only add people you know to such networks, corporate watchdogs are excluded from monitoring your activity in exactly the same way they are excluded from reading your email communications.

- Darknets are not impregnable, but to (a) discover them, and (b) hack them, require concerted attacks beyond the economic motivation of most organizations.
