This movie is excellent, Good thrills and great action sequences. Well done Disney, great gob in casting as well, A fine actor NIC CAGE does great in this film. I kept thinking of DR. STRANGE and why couldnt they make a HOLLYWOOD Production out of that marvel comic character. Instead they made an animation, anyway/. The Socerers apprentence is The Best of the Best, great flick Disney this film truly delivered. 5/5

Watched this a few day(s) ago with my love, we both enjoyed the movie, didn't expect less of Disney movies...of coarse.
The story line was good, the action was there, and just the movie itself was enjoyable. You'll really enjoy watching this with a big bowl of popcorn.
I was not expecting it to be this good with Nicolas Cage in it, I have never been a too big of a fan, but I enjoyed this movie and enjoyed the acting.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice is hollow, flashy and overly concerned with special effects, but in the oeuvre of its producer (and the work of his director John Turteltaub), that’s par for the course. The question is, does it have anything worthwhile to offer in the interim?

Actually it does. Though formulaic and aimed squarely at the twelve-year-old set, it manages to put together a decently entertaining two hours, thanks in large part to its lead performers. Nicolas Cage plays Balthazar, a two-thousand-year-old sorcerer searching for the legendary heir to Merlin’s power. He thinks he’s found it in Dave (Jay Baruchel), a nerdy New York physics student struggling to tie his own shoes. The two of them face down Horvath (Alfred Molina), the requisite evil sorcerer, who hopes to resurrect Morgana le Fey (Alice Krige) and pretty much bring about hell on Earth.

Nicolas Cage acting the wizard Balthazar, have for hundred of years been looking for Merlins inheritor. Finally he finds him in the city of New York. The "almost" regular physicistnerd Dave is the only one who can save the world from all evil.
problems appear when Alfred Molina who plays the evil wizard, does anything to try ruin things for Cage.

It's hard to place the movie into a genre. I seems to be a adventuremovie with too much action and fantasy but works in the end it works best like a comedy.

The script is pretty good and the specialeffects and actionscenes are very talented. it puts a unique touch to it. The highlights of the movie is the actors and their lines. For example when Dave ask the evil wizard if he's a member of the Depeche mode.

It is very disney. Which doesnt have to be a bad thing on itself, but they did include one scene I wish they hadnt..as it was a verrry obvious hint to a cartoon they did ages ago..cinderella I think it was, you'll recognise it when you see it. Except for that scene, on the whole, it was a rather entertaining film really. The acting was quite decent, except I found myself disagreeing with the choice for the main character, the actual sorceror's apprentice. I hadnt seen him in any films before, and this didnt make me want to see more. The guy's facial expressions and body language change every half second..leaving me completely unable to identify with him. All the other characters do keep it up though, especially the badguy, very well done. Cage did very well in his role, just a shame his apprentice wasnt as good. I'd probably watch it again if it werent for that. On the whole, it's worth your time. entertaining for 2 hours, doesnt get boring anywhere, and you can watch it with your children.

this movie was ok I was shocked when I first saw it because I thought from watching the trailers that it was going to be GREAT but it was just ok ... I was kinda bumbed that it wasn't as good as I had hoped for its not a horrible movie I would say thats its worth renting snd watching but not worth actually buying it this is just my opinion

Due to the great special effects and the fun story I gave this movie a 4/5. Really nice movie to watch with the whole family. The only bad thing about it too me was the fact that it felt a bit like Harry Potter from time to time. A kid who doesnt know he is a wizzard turns out to be a real important one and has to save the world. Sounds familliar? But that feeling was soon forgotten after seeing the special effects. Also the movie made me laugh a couple of times, which is good for an action family movie.

Okay, this is probably my favorite magical movie. I loved the idea of releasing energy from your body into the real world. It adds more of a sense of realism, allowing you to relate to the people in the story a little more in-depth. The cast was also a fantastic pick. The story moved pretty quickly for me, which I liked. It meant that I was interested enough in the movie to give it my full attention. This movie was satisfying, pretty action-packed and an overall great movie. The story kept steady throughout the movie. Starts out with a little boy and an accident and turns into an accident prone bigger boy. I loved it.

This film delivers fast paced action seeded with a strong plotline. The casting of Nicolas Cage as a slightly crazy (hinted at in the film) sorcerer trying to protect a sorcerer in training from Horvath, another sorcerer trying to kill them so he can cast a spell to raise the dead to take over the world. A very strong film that i think relies heaviy on special effects though.

Love this, love the story, love the cast, love the effects. Baruchel & Cage work so well together.. both have a similar, dry sense of humour. Have seen this movie quite a few times and it never fails to make me laugh throughout and cry at the end!! It should've had more rep than it did, but well worth the watch! 7/10
